Lead Lesson 2: Practice Makes Perfect

If you really want to be the best that you can be, the best thing to do is practice, practice, practice! Some would say that even if you are totally sucking and feel like your getting nowhere, just keep on and you’ll eventually get it. This is true with only certain people. For others, the best thing to do is only practice when you’re least frustrated with what you are practicing. The best way to practice is with a clear mind and not frustrated or mad because it only makes it harder to flow with the practice. The best way to keep a clear your head when practicing is to acquire patience with it. What I mean is start off slow and only speed up until you have fully mastered what you are playing at that speed. If you try to be a hero and speed up before you know for complete sure that you’ve absolutely mastered the previous speed, you will most likely trip on your picking or fretting and it will fall off flow. All the above goes most of all for practicing all soloing, scaling, and any other lead playing methods.

Here are some tablature layouts to help you practice your fluency at lead guitar.
